It's only an emergency when you're not doing what I want

digby has an excellent point.

I missed this in the coverage of the President announcing he'd veto the war funding bill Congress just passed.

This is the same bill that he insisted Congress pass before Christmas because otherwise the DoD would have to "shut down bases" and start furloughing civilian workers.

I'm sure there's a consistent rationale behind all of this behavior, other than "I want what I want, and I'll say whatever it takes."

-I just can't think of what it would be. Hmmmm...
