If Elliot Spitzer was a white knight - his foil would look a lot like Richard "Dickie" Scruggs.
Scruggs, a self styled champion of the victims of hurricane Katrina, has now pled guilty to bribing a judge over a dispute with his fellow litigators. Scruggs created the Scruggs Katrina Group (SKG), which apparently tag teamed with the Mississippi AG's office to win money from insurers over their scant payouts for storm damage.
Scruggs nabbed millions upon millions in the tobacco civil suits and (I'm guessing) smelled a similar windfall if he went after State Farm's deep pockets.
Insurance turned out to be a better fighter than tobacco, and SKG started crossing lines and butting heads with his own - all in pursuit of the big payoff.
I'm no fan of State Farm, but the claims were always rather thin - and those who suffered from the storm deserved a better champion than this man.
He might get five years, which would be nice.
Not nearly as interesting as a high-priced call girl, but just as stupid.

Yeah, plus the New York Post isn't able to come up with as zippy little puns ... you see the issue where the headline read, "Ho no!"
jumpin' a rail...
dontcha think it's time we started calling them 'call *women*'?
