While it is unclear what (if any) weight will be given to a list of ordinary citizens attached to a Senate bill, there is certainly no harm in doing so.
Sens. Leahy and Dodd are trying to push a Restore Habeas bill in the Senate, a measure that is long overdue. So, when Digby pointed it out, I jumped.
It's part of Dodd's presidential bid, but frankly I don't care. The bill's life arc will be determined long before next November and any push we can give it now is a good thing.
It's name and email, and 5 seconds of your time. Why not?
