With the financial world imploding around us, McCain's history of opposing financial regulation looms as a dire threat to his political existence.
Sen. McCain is overly fond of telling us all how he's going to shake up Washington. As his campaign is stocked with veterans of the Bush administration, and Washington lobbyists, color me unconvinced.
Last month, Mitt Romney told us all how McCain would "take a Weedwacker to excessive regulation." This wasn't off the cuff remark - it was in his speech at the GOP Convention.
This is what he was running on. Now it is what he is running from.
