As if

Danger Room scoffs at the transparently false rationale for the US shooting down one of it's own satellites: (quoting an unnamed space security expert)
"Having the US government spend millions of dollars to destroy a billion-dollar failure to save zero lives is comedic gold"
(h/t to TPM)

Going theories are: We're posing to make others tremble at our ability to destroy satellites; we're trying to keep our secret space stuff from falling into the wrong hands; or we're just idiots.

Hard to pick a favorite, there.
